Amazing Ha Giang Loop
How can explain my gratitude about this lovely guide
I recommand you 1000% to do motorbike tour with him! He know a lot about culture, he’s extremely kindly, smily, funny. We loved this amazing local experience with him, authentic, awesome.
An amazing trip through Ha Giang with incredible scenery. Our guide (Hiêu) was exceptional and took very good care of us, taking us all the places we wanted to go and making sure we were always safe. Would highly recommend this trip.
Right from the start, Hieu was very helpful in answering any questions we had. He customised the tour for us the best he could. He is a competent person, has excellent easy-riders and is very kind. He entrusted us to Eagle, a competent person, full of enthusiasm, who took the best care of us. Both Eagle and his colleague demonstrated very safe and careful driving.
Our wonderful experience began with a visit to the best tea-growing area in Vietnam, west of Ha Giang. We were welcomed by a local family and their daughter guided us along the mountain paths showing us the majestic ancient tea plants and explaining the harvesting and production methods of the various types. We tasted tea of exceptional quality and dined with her family in a seraphic setting surrounded by nature and local culture. If you happen to organise a visit during the tea production period, you can take an active part in the process. Something we will consider for the future!
We then proceeded to start the loop with Eagle who carefully never stops in places full of tourists. We stayed overnight in facilities surrounded by nature, clean and uncrowded. The nature is extraordinary, impressive, the views breathtaking. It was exciting to be able to see the Hmong community in their daily lives. Eagle is always available to explain any doubts. With him, excellent meals are guaranteed. We won't forget the breakfast we had at the local market, full of colours e local scents.
At the end of the loop, Hieu and his wife welcomed us into their café just outside Ha Giang, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering us local tea and a relaxing finish before we continued our journey through the rest of Vietnam.
Amazing tour! We were three friends visiting Vietnam in April. Hieu is very knowledgeable, and was keen to explain everything and to answer all our questions.
We started with the tea tour for 2 days and stayed in a local homestay in the mountains for one night. We saw waterfalls, and were basically o our own up there. Hieu introduced us to people living there.
Then we joined the Ha Giang loop for the rest of the trip: beautiful landscapes, great scenery, we went down the Tu San canyon, and again were on our own on the boat.
I highly recommend doing the tour with Hieu!
The Ha Giang loop tour is great! We did the 4 day tour with hiking - absolutely amazing time! Our tour guide Hieu was top notch and was able to answer any questions we had. He went above and beyond making sure we were all safe during the trip! Thanks again Hieu for the amazing trip!
What a trip! What an experience! For us the highlight of our Vietnam trip. Driving around freely gazing across the rugged Karst mountains on a semi-automatic motorcycle. Highly recommend to do this trip now as it still is somehow off-the-beaten track and no doubt to do it with Bike Tour Ha Giang. Hieu knows the nicest route and little places, and gives several options for your overnight stay (homestay or guesthouse). He neatly adapts the driving speed for those who are a bit inexperienced (like us). Hieu also promptly and profoundly answers all your questions via e-mail or WhatsApp in very good English. He is also setting up a homestay in Ha Giang, which could be very convenient at the start or end of the trip. Bike Tour Ha Giang is a small but solid family business, therefore no extra middlemen costs, in short the perfect QPR!
I arrived in Hà Giang without booking any tour for the Loop, and after checking around for prices and group sizes, I ended up finding the perfect place completely by chance. The hotel is in a great central location in Hà Giang City, and I was greeted by Hiếu, the manager. His excellent English and friendliness immediately stood out, and when I saw the tour prices, I was genuinely impressed — far more reasonable than many others I’d seen, where the cost was almost double and the groups were huge. Hiếu promised a small, intimate tour, and he delivered exactly that. Another big advantage was the included free night at the hotel before starting the loop. Most other companies only offer a bunk-bed dorm, and my first night in a dorm elsewhere was noisy and uncomfortable, with people arriving throughout the night from different buses. So checking into a clean private room with a double bed, a big bathroom, and even a nice TV felt like absolute luxury. On the first morning of the tour, I met my easy rider. Hiếu had matched me with a young Vietnamese driver my age so we could bond easily — and it worked perfectly. Our group was only three people in total, which made the entire experience feel personal and authentic. The tour itself was incredible. Photos genuinely can’t capture just how breathtaking the scenery is. Every day we stopped at beautiful viewpoints — often quieter ones that other groups skipped — thanks to the guides’ amazing local knowledge. We avoided the busy, tourist-heavy sections and instead took smaller mountain roads, seeing local life up close, including school children walking home along tiny winding paths. The food throughout the trip was excellent: breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, always different, always delicious, and always more than enough. The tour also included a beautiful boat ride along the river, which was another highlight. I truly can’t recommend this tour enough. The hospitality is unbeatable, you’re in very safe hands the entire time, and the experience feels genuine from start to finish. Hiếu even arranged a bus for my next destination after returning to Hà Giang City. If you want an authentic, intimate, and well-organised Hà Giang Loop experience, this is absolutely the place to go.

In early October 2025, Ha Giang Province experienced one of the worst floods in its history. Continuous heavy rain for several days caused serious flooding in the city center of Ha Giang, submerging houses, roads, and local markets. The sudden rise of water levels led to severe damage to public infrastructure, vehicles, and businesses, especially in low-lying areas along the Lo River.
